Use of Açai
Açai berries can be consumed as they are, for example, by adding them to yogurt along with granola, nuts and oilseeds.
You can also prepare an herbal infusion with Açai berries: just let a tablespoon of berries infuse in hot water for about ten minutes.

Açai berries have a pleasant and particular taste and can also be used in homemade desserts. The taste of the berries is similar to other red fruits, tart, and some describe it as somewhere between the taste of blueberries and persimmon.
In addition to being sold as a superfood, Açai is used to formulate supplements with antioxidant and energizing action, recommended to counteract the action of free radicals and also to improve carbohydrate and fat metabolism.
Properties of Açaí berries

Antioxidant action: anthocyanins, active principles with a value equivalent to approximately 30 times the antioxidant properties of red wine and three times those of blueberry. It is capable of counteracting premature aging of cells and tissues.

Hypocholesterolemic action: essential fatty acids help the transport and absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, A, E, D and K, intervene on cholesterol providing a protective action on the heart and circulatory system.

Açaí fatty acids - in particular oleic acid (omega-9), reduce LDL (low density lipoproteins, bad cholesterol), which causes atherosclerosis. The presence of linoleic acid (omega-6) helps maintain healthy cell membranes.

The granulated pulp of the berries and the presence of energizing nutrients make Açaí a unique food, fruit juice or energy drink capable of reducing the sensation of hunger with very few calories, but with a very high concentration of nutrients.

The fibers promote a healthy digestive system, help not to absorb fats, sugars and triglycerides from food and give a feeling of satiety, in addition to keeping the colon clean.

Anti-inflammatory action: sterols, components of fruit cell membranes, provide numerous benefits to the body by reducing cholesterol in blood plasma and accumulated fats.

Phytosterols affect the metabolism of prostaglandins and have an analgesic and anti-inflammatory action.
